National Volunteer Month

April is National Volunteer Month which gives us a chance to give an extra thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who support the work of empowering families in their journey to independence here at Dakota Woodlands!

As we look at what our volunteers do for our families, they are helping families behind the scenes as well as engaging directly with clients. We have volunteers picking up donations from Target through the Second Harvest food rescue program, volunteers running our client store, high school students tutoring kids, civic and religious groups serving meals in our kitchen, groups hosting holiday parties, organizations supporting us in our yard maintenance and so many volunteers filling in as needed.

In 2024 volunteers gave 2,600 hours of time to Dakota Woodlands! This time is such a blessing to our organization which allows us to do the day to day work of picking up food and preparing meals, as well as enhancing the stay of families by providing family fun nights, tutoring, and educational opportunities.

Thank you to all our individual and group volunteers who invest in the lives of our families! Your commitment improves the lives of our clients, families, and community.
