DW Honors Mothers
Being a mom is a tough job!
Imagine the extra stress our homeless mothers face:
besides the usual challenges of parenting, they are often job searching, apartment hunting and attempting to stay free of drugs and alcohol.
We also celebrate our "honorary moms" at the shelter who pitch in daily to help with childcare, transportation to appointments, and so much more. It's heartwarming to see our older single residents connecting with the children at the shelter.
On Mother's Day, we will be giving each of our "moms" a gift basket filled with lots of pampering goodies to honor them.
